It's been 10 years since we've released "80s Investigation" compilation. The self-proclaimed king of 1980s music in Japan is DJ 19. He has a keen ear for that particular decade in music and it helps explain why he's released many 1980s cover tunes under the DJ 19, Ambrozia, Valid Evidence and Hot Station guises over the years. As a result of his love for all things breakdancing, new wave, parachute pants, big hair, electro, synth pop and other 1980s-based culture, he has decided to release a compilation that focuses on 80s & 90s cover tunes that's aptly titled "80s & 90s Investigation". The album's chillout grooves include mostly projects he has been involved with. 

Most of the tracks have already seen a release, but there's also 2 new exclusive tunes here. The first one has been done by Ambrozia aka DJ 19 & Edison Watanabe. They have covered Pet Shop Boys 'West End Girls'. Edison played Shinobue, which is a traditional transverse Japanese bamboo flute.

The second track is by Genuine Fakes aka Sota S.. He has covered Afrika Bambaataa & The Soulsonic Force 'Planet Rock'. "80s & 90s Investigation" is the ultimate soundtrack to any discerning clubber's winter holiday.

2014年リリースの『80s Investigation』は、80年代のカヴァー曲を収録したコンピレーションとして、traxsourceだけでなく、今は亡きHARD TO FIND RECORDS(HDFR)やwasabeatなどでも大ヒットを記録。今回、約10年の時を経て、新たに90年代のカヴァーも収録した『80s & 90s Investigation』のリリースを決定。19BOX RECORDINGSの総帥であるDJ 19は、AMBROZIA、VALID EVIDENCE、HOT STATIONといった名義を使用し、多くのカヴァー・ヒットを生み出してきたが、今回もその中から代表的な作品を収録。新たにAMBROZIAとして、PET SHOP BOYSの「West End Girls」をEDISON WATANABEによる篠笛を大々的にフィーチュアして再現。また、GENUINE FAKESによるAFRIKA BAMBAATAA & THE SOULSONIC FORCEの「Planet Rock」も初収録。

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, DJ 19's 19BOX(JUKEBOX) RECORDINGS presents a series of unreleased remixes. 'Dueling Weapons Vol.19' features DJ 19 Vs Thomas Penton's 'Ima'. Originally released in 2004, the talented production duo provided a monumental example of energetic progressive house, graced with the dynamic vocal talent of Japan's Ta (ex-Maji Na Damu). The seminal track was gained huge popularity after receiving heavy play from Above & Beyond,  Hernan Cattaneo, DJ Chus, among others, and got remaining a record box essential for two decades.

To celebrate 20 years since its original release, 19BOX RECORDINGS have called upon Yuriy From Russia to update the track. The Russian born producer really does not need any introduction. For the rework, he delivers a compelling interpretation of 'Ima', and creates a deliciously rich and full-flavoured sound with familiar stabs, infectious vocals and deep elements.

1999年の設立から25周年となる19BOX RECORDINGS。記念として、秘密兵器として機能するフロア向け未発表リミックス・シリーズである「Dueling Weapons Vol.19」を特別パッケージ。第19弾という記念すべき数字のため、首謀者であるDJ 19が盟友であるTHOMAS PENTONと2004年にリリースした「Ima」の刷新をYURIY FROM RUSSIAに要請。元MAJI DA NAMUのTAをフィーチュアした当時としては珍しい日本語によるフロア・バンガーは話題となり、ABOVE & BEYONDやHERNAN CATTANEOなど世界中の多くのDJに愛される曲となった。今回、印象的なスタッブを用いながらもディープにアップグレード。
