Welcome back to our 'Dueling Weapons' series, which will focus on bringing unreleased remixes to the world. The 26th installment of 'Dueling Weapons' is jam packed with secret weapons, and includes exclu-sive remixes by artists such as Dan Sonic and Jody Vukas.
First up to the plate is DJ 19's 'Rainforest', a cover version of the 1984 dancefloor classic by British elec-tronic music icon Paul Hardcastle. DJ 19's revised version is taken from his long awaited debut album "Phuturefunk" in 2009 and was released as a single on 19BOX LIMITED in 2010. Dan Sonic steps up and absolutely owns his version, delivering a super-dope remix that feels both spacious and laser-focused, driven by melodic language and rhythmic energy.
Next up we have the collaboration between 19BOX(JUKEBOX) RECORDINGS' label boss DJ 19 and ARTIFICIAL ACOUSTICAL AMBIENCE RECORDS' label boss Dan Sonic's 'Feeling This'. Their track 'Feeling This' originally made the rounds back in 2019, showcasing their love for progressive with Phuturefunk elements. On remix duty we welcome American producer Jody Vukas, known for his own DISTANT DRUM RECORDINGS and releases on prominent labels such as NORMOUS TUNES, ADDICTIVE SOUNDS, THE ACID MIND RECORDINGS, and more. He crafts a melodic and robust progressive sound that keeps you engaged, with delicate touches added for extra appeal.
秘密兵器として機能するフロア向け未発表リミックス・シリーズである「Dueling Weapons」の第26弾は、DJ 19関連の曲をピックアップ。まず、2009年のアルバム『Phuturefunk』に初収録され、2010年には19BOX LIMITEDでもシングル・カットされた「Rainforest」。DJ 19の名前の由来でもあるPAUL HARDCASTLEによるインストながらヒットしたが84年の曲のカヴァーを、DAN SONICがメロディックな要素にフロア機能を加味してリモデル。続いて、そのDAN SONICがDJ 19とコラボし、2019年にリリースした「Feeling This」を、アメリカから初参戦のJODY VUKASがリワーク。パワフルながら下世話にならない加減のプロッグに。
